Playing the horn

Besides my activities as a data nerd I work as a freelance musician playing the french horn. Since my master of music degree in 2008 finished with a thesis on the subject of historical mouthpieces at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Teunis van der Zwart I specialised myself further in the field of historical music performance practice on baroque, French- , Bohemian- , Viennese classical and romantic horns. You can think about the repertoire of the Bach family, Graupner, Händel, Rameau, Benda, Zachow, Mozart, Haydn, Rosetti, Schubert, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Brahms, and many others.

Through time I have played several projects with Orchestra of the 18th Century, Freiburger Barock Orchester, Le Concert d’Astrée, Ensemble Pygmalion, Collegium Vocale Gent, Tokyo Mozart Players, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Accademia Amsterdam, Kölner Akademie, Concerto Copenhagen, European Union Baroque Orchestra, Thalia Ensemble among many others.
